This year the elementary buildings had the privilege of displaying art work at the high school for the District Art Show. We were able to showcase 16 students’ art work.

Over 15,000 Box Tops Collected!

Dunk Tank fun had by all! Willard North won the “Principal vs. Principal” challenge bringing in 8,027 Box Tops. But Willard East brought in 7,777!
Both principals celebrated by taking a turn in the dunk tank.

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! Let’s celebrate teachers!

As a mom:

I have forgotten to send snacks and the teacher had extra snacks.

I forgot picture day and the teacher made sure my child looked presentable.

I listened as my child told me some exaggerated stories about school and smiled. I do not believe everything my child says.

I know that my child has gone to school and shared some exaggerated family details. The teacher listened but doesn’t believe everything my child says either.

I had to discipline my child for something that happened at school. I did not ask what the other children did. I did not ask my child if it was true. I disciplined her because she is 7 and the adult in charge told me she did something unacceptable.

I know that my child’s teacher is not perfect and will make mistakes. I do not point that out every time there is an incident.

I am thrilled that there is caring, patient, educated teacher to help my child grow and learn.

As the Principal:

I support my teachers. Period.

I also know that teachers are human and make mistakes. I make mistakes too.

I have answered my phone during all hours of the night for teachers who are sick but don’t want to miss school. But they want the sub to make sure “Little Susie” goes to the nurse when needed.

I have used my own money(lots of it) to provide for various school related activities and didn’t think twice about it.

I have seen my teachers in public places in costumes. Would you wear a Super Hero costumes to get coffee in the morning?

I also don’t thank my teachers enough and I am glad when Teacher Appreciation Week comes around so I can celebrate how much they do for all our children.

Your child’s teacher has shown grace towards you and your child and always will because that is A TEACHER.

Two Days Left for Principal vs. Principal Challenge

Send in those Box Tops! You only have 2 more days. The last day we will collect towards the Principal vs. Principal challenge will be Tuesday April 30th. We have seen more Box Tops than ever over the past month.

Principal Miller is getting nervous and hoping for nice weather on Friday May 10th!

Willard North PTO is working on our announcement date and reserving the dunk tank.
Friday May 10th during lunch at Willard Tiger Football Stadium, one or both Principals will be “dunked!”
Everyone is welcome to bring a sack lunch and join us for the fun.

MAP Test for 3rd and 4th Graders This Week

This week our 3rd and 4th students will be taking the MAP Test. Our scheduled testing window will be Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 9:00AM – 11:00AM. We believe our students have been well prepared for these tests.

Week of April 22nd – Communication Arts Test
Week of April 30th – Math Test

You might be asking how you can help your child be successful the next two weeks? Here are some tips we have been sharing with the students:

Get a good night’s rest.
Eat a healthy breakfast.
Talk positively about the test and ask what they did well.
Plan a family celebration at the end of the week to recognize their hard work!
